Arkansas has added new graduation requirements!
Last year the added requirement for the class of 2026 and beyond is for ALL students to have completed 1 credit of a computer science course. This course can be used toward 1 of the 6 required elective credits and possibly as a flex credit.
This year the added requirement for the graduating Class of 2027 and beyond ALL students must have 75 hours of Community Service Learning in order to receive a high school diploma. The State has not finalized all of the rules of this requirement; however, we do know that they must be completed during grades 9-12 , and they must be through a program that is already approved by the state or that is approved by the local school board. We are working hard at ARCA to make sure that we provide different ways for your student to meet these requirements. There will be a webmail that will go out as soon as we have a all the rules from the state and have our plan set in place. If you have any questions, please reach out to your school counselor. Thank you for your continued confidence and support.
