Hello ARCA Students and Families!
The Arkansas Department of Education has provided us with a free College and Career Readiness online program called Navigator by Kuder. We are excited to implement this new program school wide for grades 6th-12th. The Arkansas Department of Education requires that 8th-12th grade students have an updated Student Success plan on file each school year. ARCA has plans to utilize this program in a variety of ways and we will continue to plan and find ways to make this an effective tool for our students and families.
Navigator allows students to do things like:
A student success plan includes a student’s current chosen career cluster, their educational plan, the route they intend to take to complete the educational plan and then the grad plan that supports the educational plan. The plan is a living document that can be altered to meet your student’s current interests, abilities, and skills. This is the reasoning for your student to spend time each year working in the program. The amount of time that is expected for your students to spend in this program, depends on their grade level and tasks to be completed as well as the amount of time left in the school year to complete the assigned tasks. Generally speaking, your student should spend what is equal to at least 1-2 class periods per month completing tasks.
We would like for your student to get started as soon as they are added to the system. Please allow 7-10 business days for your student to be able to access the system. If after this amount of time has passed and your student is having problems logging into the system, please follow the steps in the login issue google form found in the instruction sheet.
Instructions on how to Access the Navigator system:
Clever log in and instructions for students
The Navigator program/app will be accessed through a system/dashboard called Clever. Once students are in the Navigator program, they will have access to “invite” parents to be added to their account as a task in their “My Steps” column. Please have your student do this before the end of the semester. There is a link to an “issue” form in the students log-in instruction sheet if you are having problems with getting into the system.
If you have questions regarding working in the Navigator system, careers, etc. please reach out to your counselor for assistance. Their information is on your student homepage.
